Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington is a Greek American author syndicated columnist and businesswoman. She is the co-founder and CEO of Thrive Global, as well being the author of 15 books. Arianna Huffington is a journalist, TV personality, philanthropist and author for over ten years. She is also the owner of The Huffington Post, an independent, liberal online newsmagazine. Originating from Greece she was able to move to England when she was sixteen and then completed her studies at Cambridge University with an MA in Economics. The first graduate from outside the UK to be elected the president of The Cambridge Union at the age of 21. A conservative syndicated blogger when she graduated, she went on to become the voice of Huffington Post. The fame of Arianna helped in attracting several famous contributors. Arianna's fame was first noticed in 2003 when she declared herself an independent candidate in the California recall vote in order to replace Governor Davis. Alongside that, she was also the leader of a Detroit initiative to promote fuel-efficient cars. Forbes listed her 12th in their list of the Top influential women in the media. Guardian also included the Huffington Post in their top 100 list in the year 2010. In 2011, AOL Inc. bought The Huffington Post and made the president of that media group which included many at the time-current AOL properties too such as Engadget AOL music Style list and Patch Media.
